Rampant racism, misogyny and corruption – can the Conservatives win the next election?

With Suzanne Evans, Narinder Kaur, and David Osland

A ROUND-UP AND REVIEW OF THE WEEK’S BIGGEST NEWS STORIES

In this week’s ‘News Roundtable’ episode, host Chris Wright is joined by former UKIP deputy chair, Suzanne Evans, political commentator, Narinder Kaur, and author and journalist, David Osland.

The conversation kicks off with the panel discussing their ideas on how the Conservatives could try and win the next General Election and what they could be doing to prevent a Labour landslide. The panel dive deep into potential policy ideas but collectively agree that there probably isn’t enough time to turn things around.

They debate disunity in the Tory Party and the public’s readiness for change after 13 years of successive Conservative governments. Together, they question the impact of Brexit and disagree about the consequences of the referendum and its effect on the British economy seven years on.

The panel explore the state of the Metropolitan Police and whether the police force poses a danger to women, agreeing that institutional misogyny goes far beyond what has unfolded. They wrap up the discussion by sharing their thoughts on Jeremy Clarkson’s latest offensive comments and his subsequent rumoured cancellation by Amazon. Did he deserve it, or did he have it coming?

All this and much more debated on this week’s episode!
